You fool!

For some, today is just an ordinary day. I, on the other hand think differently. It's April Fool's and I can't wait to "victimize" one of my unsuspecting friends. *evil smirk and evil laugh...LOL*

Though it is really not part of Filipino tradition to celebrate this event, a lot have been exposed to our Western counterparts that some of us just felt the urge to join in. I am one of those. Unfortunately for my close friends, they have been my easy targets. As far as I can remember, I have three unforgettable April Fool's pranks.

The first time was when I was still in college. My friend (let's name her), Len, have always told me that me and my guy friend (let's name him), John looked good together and should be a couple. Having this as ammunition, I told her on April Fool's that John wanted to hook up. Len was so excited that she started to ramble about where to go, what to do, what to wear... yada yada yada. I could see that she was so into it and that she felt her cupid days have paid off. Before the day ended, I told her over the phone it was just a joke and that it's April 1. She hung up and didn't talk to me for (I think) 2 days. LOL! Don't worry we're still friends. :-)

The second was supposed to be for a different friend but since my friend Len is still in her cupid duties, I just couldn't pass the opportunity to do a part two of my previous prank. So the joke still had the same characters, same plot and same punchline. This was my last prank on her because she "vowed" not to talk to me ever again if that joke resurfaces in the future. LOL!

My last big time prank was for my three girlfriends in the office. Let's name them Cynthia, Sofie and Juniper . On that day, Sofie and Juniper were on leave because they just came from Bacolod with their other friends while Cynthia was in the office next to my table. I started my prank early in the morning (a couple of minutes before 8:00 a.m.) by acting sluggish and looking depressed. Being a good friend, Cynthia clearly noticed that something's up. She asked me and I told her that I was pregnant. She was so shocked her jaw literally dropped (a fly could've gotten in if she would've stayed that way longer). Upon hearing my “problem”, she immediately texted Sofie and Juniper. To my surprise, the two decided to come to work despite their tiring trip (now I was feeling a bit guilty at this time but I had to follow through). When they came, we went out for lunch and told them that I was confused and didn’t know what to do. They gave me all sorts of advice but I couldn’t stand it anymore. I had to tell them. So, I did. They were silent at first…then they were laughing … and then they were mad. I had to calm them down and fortunate for me, they did. Now they made me promise not to do that joke again. Whew! I was off the hook!

This year I would have to keep mum. *wink wink* Well, that’s because I’m out of pranks to play. Any suggestions? LOL! Happy April Fool’s everybody!!! :-D
