I've missed going to makeup gigs with my friends, Em and Harold. I would remember our wedding gigs starting as early as 3:00 a.m. and ending till 1:00 p.m. We would be so tired (and hungry!) but it was alright because we enjoyed what we were doing and because of good company. Unfortunately, I had to split and decided not to continue being a part-time makeup artist. No doubt I had fun doing it but had reasons I cannot divulge (hehe!).

So anyway,last Wednesday, you could just imagine my excitement when my friend, Norman asked me if I could do their band's (Jeepney Joyride) makeup for their second music video shoot. I was excited and wanted to do it but unfortunately, I remembered that I no longer have any makeup to work with since I've stopped being a MUA for almost three years. Norman then said that they'd be the one to buy what is needed, anyway they just wanted their faces not to look oily as it is just a "normal" shoot. So I agreed and started packing my kit with whatever I think I can use for that gig. I brought 2 shades of loose powder, moisturizer, sponges and cotton buds, blush, a couple of my brushes and even a comb and hair spray (who knows, they might ask me to fix their hair too). So I was all set.

The venue was in this studio in QC where the late night show of Jojo A (All the Way! Hehe!) would be taping. We got there around 1:30 p.m. and they were immediately asked to wear their "costume". I was then starting to put makeup on one of the members (Roel) when Tado said that they have to start. We were all shocked because some of them aren't even finished dressing up. I was so rushed that I just applied the loose powder and some neutral lip gloss and that's it. It's a shame that I wasn't able to fix their hair or contour their faces. Well, at least they looked good. The reason for the rush was that Jojo A's show will start taping soon and since the band would be using his set for the video, they have to do it before the taping otherwise they would have to wait for god knows when till they could shoot their video.

My bitin feeling was soon replaced by excitement and joy when I saw the band doing their thing. I've known these guys for three years now (thanks to Aris) and I can say that they are really talented and fun people to be with (this is an understatement). I'm thrilled for them!
