Last Minute Christmas Shopping

Ok enough about the Pinoy version of Twilight. I guess I've already ruined enough of your Christmas holiday. Believe me I have no intentions of doing the same thing to your New Year's celebration.

Let me stick to what this holiday is about. My husband and I have been so busy making our Christmas list and doing our Christmas shopping that I've been late posting this entry.

Talk about last minute shopping. A and I went to Greenhilust a couple of hours there and go to Trinoma afterwards to look for other gift ideas. Unfortunately, we spent the whole day and evening in Greenhills but only managed to buy a couple of gifts. It's not that we're too picky in buying presents that's why it took us the whole day to shop. It was because of the crowd that was also doing there last minute shopping. It was too hard to walk on the narrow aisles of the stores. Well, if you frequent Greenhills during this holiday season then you know what I mean.

So anyway, A and I were so tired by the time we got home. However, despite my sore feet, aching legs and arms, I still feel happy for having been able to buy my friends and family their Christmas presents.

Here's a shot of what we bought plus a couple of mini liquor for our other friends. :)

Christmas Shopping

It's Friday... thank God. I am really hoping I could start with my Christmas shopping tomorrow. I know, I know, it's a bit late already but as I've said, things have been pretty crazy around here. So anyway, since everyone is affected with the "financial situation" of the greater nations, I would also have to be more practical when it comes to buying gifts. The sale sign plastered in store windows draws me like a moth to a flame. I don't care what they sell there. As long as the word sale is on their display, then I'm hooked. Haha!

I really wish that I'd be able to get good deals and great finds tomorrow. How about you? Are you done with your Christmas shopping or are you cramming just like me?

Saturday 9: You Wear it Well

It's been a while since I played and I am super glad that this is our topic for today because I am currently in the process of updating my wardrobe. LOL. :)

Here goes...

1. What are your favorite shoes? Right now, I love wearing my Chuck Taylor sneakers because it's always raining. Keeps my feet dry. :)

2. What does your favorite shirt or blouse look like? At the moment, my favorite shirt is this black puff-sleeved shirt I bought a couple of weeks ago.

3. What does your favorite tee shirt say on it? It just has a white print of a collar and tie.

4. Do you think you look better in casual or business attire?
Hmmm...both! :)

5. What do you sleep in? boy shorts and my raggedy old shirts. They're so comfy!

6. Do you wear expensive sneakers?
Hmm... I don't think my Converse sneaks are expensive. So... no. But I'd love to have one of those Harajuku Lovers sneakers. They're so cute!

7. What is your favorite hat? Sorry I don't have one.

8. Your preference for men: Boxers or briefs?
Briefs are ok but boxers, I think have more variety.

9. Your preference for women: Suits or dresses? Dresses are okay but suits gives the idea/impression that we are in the same level as men. :) It shows that we are (somewhat) free from the gender stereotypes.

Load it in my shopping cart

If there is a Shopaholics Anonymous then I would definitely be a part of that group. I love to shop. I can do it alone or with friends and family. It's a kind of therapy for me -- retail therapy. However, there are certain things that I just don't like whenever I go shopping. First is the traffic going to the mall. It's crazy! Sometimes the time I spent stuck in traffic is even longer than the time spent in the mall. Second, I really don't appreciate waiting in a long queue at the cashier. That time could've been spent for more shopping. Such a waste. Lastly, it's physically straining to push a very big shopping cart or to carry my shopping bags out of the mall to my car.

That's why I am super glad that the internet plus the ecommerce software was invented. Now shopping is just a click away. I just love it when I go shopping online. It's stress-free, easy and fun. Goodbye traffic and long queues. I particularly like the idea of the shopping cart. I just click and click and they're all in my cart ready to be "delivered" to the check out counter. I don't even have to move a muscle. Well, maybe just to type in my credit card number. I just hope that my other favorite shops would go online and get the best shopping cart software they could find.

Crowded Sunday

I woke up this morning around 9:30 a.m. yet it felt like it was already noon. The sun was blasting on my window and even when the blinds were still closed, I could feel the warmth of the rays. I then asked my mom and Aris if they wanted to go to the mall since my mom needed to do a little shopping (and I can sneak a couple of mine too..LOL!) plus it's really hot to stay in the house and turning on the A/C the whole day would strain the machine and my dad's wallet. Hehe!

So after eating breakfast, we headed to MOA because my mom said that it's having a three-day sale that started last Friday. Normally, I'd suggest a different mall because if it's the last day of the sale (plus it's a Sunday), then it's synonymous to large crowds but I figured, it's MOA, it's a HUGE mall so it's ok. WRONG! The mall was packed! I cannot believe myself when I saw the people on the ground floor looking like ants swarming a piece of candy. They were everywhere!

Anyway, we battled our way through the human traffic in the different stores as my mom finished her shopping. I so wanted to try out different tops and shorts but the line leading to the fitting rooms are ridiculous so I ended up leaving the store. Hehe! Whew, at least nakatipid pa ko! Taas na EQ ko! LOL! *beaming with pride*

After shopping, we had lunch at one of my favorite restos, Fish & Co. We ordered the usual Seafood Platter and Simple Pasta plus our FREE Fish and Chips (for a minimum of Php 750). Just like what happened in our previous meal in this resto, I wasn't able to take a picture again because we were busy eating. *burp* I just can't get enough of their fish and chips! And the sauce... love it! Yu-mmy!!!

We left the mall at 3:00 p.m. and there were still a lot of people (there were more getting in the parking area). It really proves that the word SALE is a people magnet. Now, who would say na naghihirap ang Pilipinas?!

Where's your shopping cart?

I am fairly new to this concept of online shopping. I was influenced by my friends to try it and now I’m hooked. Almost everything and anything can be bought online. Thanks to the wonders of ecommerce software. Without this, most of our time and effort would be wasted on lining up in long queues at the check-out counter not to mention the trouble of finding a slot in the parking area of a mall. I just love it when I check on the item that I want and when I finally decide to buy it, I just click and voila, in just a blink of an eye, the item is safely put in my shopping cart.

That’s why I was so happy when I found out that my friend who put up her jewelry business, wanted to sell her pieces online. I knew this would help with the sales. Unfortunately after a few months, she told me that business wasn’t doing well. I was confused because I know she has a lot of clients. Apparently, she can’t keep up with the orders . I quickly suggested that she use the shopping cart software by AShop Commerce. It’s quick and easy as it is web-based. Plus they have really great features that she can use like inventory reports, bulk orders reports and real time order tracking reports for her clients. She was so psyched that she didn’t even bother with the FREE 10 day trial. Now her business is doing better than ever! I was glad to be of help.
