Pata...Pata...Pata... Pon!

Two Christmases ago, I gave a black PSP to Aris as a gift. Since then, he's been downloading games and buying accessories for it. They were inseparable up until Aris got this new game called Luxor. I got hooked the moment I started playing it. I had to use my "beautiful eyes" strategy so I can borrow his PSP for long periods of time just to play Luxor. Hahaha! But after a few weeks, the hype has faded and I returned the PSP to him. I got bored and actually I already had the chance to beat his score in one of the games. So I'm good! I'm highly competitive when it comes to video games. Hehehe!

Just a couple of days ago,Aris downloaded a new game called Patapon. He said it was one of the favorites and I even saw in one of the gaming sites that it's been voted as one of the Games of the Year. So anyway, I was laughing at the name because you (Pinoys) all know what that means in tagalog right?! For my non-Filipino speaking friends, the meaning of Patapon in Filipino is trash or (is it) to throw in the trash? Well, anyway, point is the common word is trash. So I was skeptical and wasn't really excited about the game. Still, I tried playing it and now I'm hooked (again!). Plus, I can't get the chanting of the characters in the game out of my head. It's so contagious! Hehehe! One of the chants goes: "Pata Pata Pata Pon!" It looks like an easy quest game at first but it gets harder at the next 2-3 chapters of the game. The player has to make a strategy to beat the tribes' adversaries and at the same time keep in mind the beat and rhythm of the chant to make the appropriate actions. It's like playing Dance Revolution (using your hands) while battling evil tribesmen and bosses. Hehehe!

So now, in between blogging and doing research for my Case Analysis due on the 9th, I'm playing Patapon! It's so addicting!! Hehehe!

This is what some of the characters or your "troops" look like. Weird huh? :-D

And this is a sample of the tribes' chant while you're playing. Every chant corresponds to an action performed by your troops (i.e. attack, retreat, defend, etc.). You'd probably think it sounds weird but once you're playing the game, you'll be chanting along with your troops! Hahaha! Or maybe it's just me. LOL!
