Dengue

This is more of a public announcement. A plea to all my friends and the people of the world wide web (especially those in the Philippines) to please protect yourself from the Dengue virus. I am writing this because I received a text message from my friend saying that her brother is confined in the hospital because of Dengue. I was shocked because I just saw him last Thursday and he looked perfectly fine. Though he said he's sick and has the flu. I do hope he recovers fast. Let's all pray for him.

I've seen in the news that the number of Dengue patients have increased this year. Just last year, probably on the last quarter, my cousin who is living nextdoor also had dengue. Plus a neighbor of ours was a victim as well. Fortunately, they're both ok now. So people, if it's the late afternoon and your outside, do put on mosquito repellant creams or have candles with citronella extract to drive away those pesky insects! But most importantly, let us make sure that we do not have any exposed containers with stagnant water. We should all do our part to help prevent the spread of these dengue mosquitoes.
