I'm ready!

When I was a kid (I guess when I was like nine or ten years old), I would often daydream about my life as an adult. That time, I would say to my playmates that by the time I reach 23, I have everything that I would want in life. I mean I imagined myself to be a succesful doctor, married with four kids, have a gorgeous house, etc etc. Picture perfect! Yeah right, Val! I am nowhere near that picture.

I guess the reason why I'm stressing about my goals in life is because I am turning the big 3-0 this year (Well, not for another four months just to be clear!). Yes, unfortunately, another decade has passed and I would have to accept sooner or later (maybe later.. haha!) that I will no longer be in my 20's. Time flies so fast these days. I can still remember the time when I turned 20, thinking that I am no longer a teenager. Hahaha! Oh the denial and resentment! LOL.

Reminiscing the past 9 1/2 years of my life brings a smile to my face. The 2nd decade of my life isn't as bad as I think because:

1. My parents have become my friends. Gone were the days, when I would really, really despise them for grounding me or not buying me new clothes or whatever. We have grown close and talk a lot about everything and anything.

2. I have loved --> I got brokenhearted --> I learned a thing or two about love and life --> I have loved again and is still presently head over heels in love with the love of my life (Teehee! I have never mentioned the word "love" this much! haha!)

3. I met a bunch of interesting people. Most of these people, in time, became my friends... my second family.

4. I was fortunate enough to travel to different places. It's not only the place that makes an adventure but also the company you're with. To Harold, Mia and Mishel-- I will never forget our Palawan trip!!! To Aris, I look forward to our other trips (may it be abroad or just to Tagaytay ;-) )

5. My job paid well. It paid for my "ka-kikayan". Haha! From clothes, shoes, bags, perfume to photography lessons, gym and yoga class, makeup lessons and my trips both domestic and abroad.

Hmmm... They say 30 is the new 20... So, maybe turning 30 ain't that bad! Ok... I'm ready! :-D
