We just had lunch and had fresh watermelon for dessert. It was quite disappointing because it wasn't put in the fridge so it was in room temp when we ate it. However, my disappointment disappeared when I found out that my parents bought the "yellow" one. I've always been fascinated by the yellow watermelon because obviously it's different.
I first came across these yellow boulders when my dad brought home these watermelons when he went to Pampanga. I thought he was joking when he said that the meat was yellow. I thought the skin was the one that's yellow because sometimes it's a bit yellowish when the fruit isn't that ripe. When he sliced it, I was really shocked to see the bright yellow flesh staring at me. What's even better is its taste. It's sooo sweet. So whenever my dad or my cousins would be coming from the province, I'd always make a request for them to buy me the yellow watermelon. Unfortunately, it's not that common here. We just got lucky and was able to buy it in the market this morning.
Some of my friends don't believe me and think that I'm just joking but it's TRUE! See for yourself. The one that we ate is seedless so it kinda looks weird without the little black seeds.
